The Philodendron Caramel Marble is a striking cultivar with marbled, creamy yellow and green variegation on its heart-shaped leaves. As it matures, the plant's colours intensify, creating a beautiful contrast that can brighten any space. The leaves are often glossy and leathery in texture, adding a luxurious feel. This variety is particularly popular for its unique colouration and easy care.
Care Plan
- Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Too much direct sunlight can cause leaf burn, while too little light may reduce variegation.
- Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 18°C to 24°C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
- Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist. Water when the top 2.5 cm of soil feels dry. Be careful not to let the plant sit in water, as it may lead to root rot.
- Humidity: Enjoys higher humidity, so misting occasionally or placing the plant on a humidity tray can help. If the air is dry, you may also want to use a humidifier.
- Soil: Well-draining, airy potting mix, like a mix designed for aroids, will allow for good root health.
- Fertilising: Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). In winter, reduce feeding as the plant’s growth slows.
- Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant outgrows its container. Ensure the new pot has drainage holes.
This easy-going, low-maintenance plant adds both beauty and a touch of elegance to any home, making it a great choice for plant lovers.
